The company is a business delivering market-leading Innovative software solutions to the insurance market.  Their business has been focussed on the UK insurance market, however, they are now expanding internationally, with a particular focus on North America.

They are seeking a highly-skilled CTO with a storied history in the technological sector. You will be tasked with making executive technology decisions on behalf of the company, including managing a technology budget and making investments to align the company with its vision for its technological needs.

Preferably, you will have experience in either the insurance or financial services sectors and have a background with data focussed businesses and private equity.

You should be a strategic thinker, an effective communicator, and an expert in technological development.  You will be expected to lead the area of the business dedicated to product development and deliver on the company roadmap using the most appropriate technology to achieve the goal.   You will also be responsible for our infrastructure including the relationships with our support partners and hosting providers.

You will work directly under the CEO and will act as both a technology and business expert, making decisions that will impact the current and future IT operations of the company.


  • Setting a vision for how technology will be used in the company to deliver on our roadmap and international aspirations.
  • Ensuring that technological resources meet the company’s short and long-term needs.
  • Outline the goals for research and development.
  • Creating timelines for the development and deployment of all technological services.
  • Deliver projects on or ahead of schedule.
  • Making executive decisions on behalf of the company’s technological requirements.
  • Acting as a mentor to team members.
  • Encourage the right behaviours of your team in line with the company culture.
  • Maintaining a consumer-focused outlook and aiding in the delivery of IT projects to market.
  • Managing technology budgets and time frames.
  • Staying on top of technology trends and developments.
  • Ensuring all technology practices adhere to regulatory standards.
  • Working with and coaching the Development Manager and the Architect.
  • Working with the CCO and Head of Change for planning and delivery of the roadmap in line with sales and delivery requirements.


  • Masters degree in computer science or related field.
  • MBA preferred.
  • 8 years working in a technological role.
  • 5 years of managerial experience.
  • Advanced technological skillset and a demonstrated history with technology.
  • Exceptional team management skills.
  • Cloud and Data experience including migration and of platforms
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to delegate efficiently.
  • Strong Stakeholder and Relationship Management
  • Extensive industry knowledge with an eye towards the future.
