The Role

  • To work as part of a small team
  • Prepare monthly management accounts
  • Monthly and quarterly financial review services
  • Quarterly VAT returns
  • Retail Mediation Activities Return (RMAR)
  • To assist auditors on client audits
  • To assist the team with various month and quarter-end close processes
  • To assist the finance manager in the preparation of management accounts
  • Opportunity to support on a variety of process improvements projects and gain exposure to different types of clients within insurance industry



Key Responsibilities

Coverholder Reviews and Broker Scorecard

  • Perform coverholder reviews for our syndicate clients 
  • Compilation of the final broker scorecards 
  • Provide research and relevant analysis on the performance of the brokers and coverholder

Management Accounts

  • Accounts Payable: record and settle supplier invoices
  • Accounts Receivable: calculate & reconcile Income
  • Full ownership of the management accounts function for several clients
  • Assist auditors in the yearly client audits
  • Assist the finance manager in preparation of management accounts


Key Skills and Experience Required

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum of a relevant Degree or Equivalent;
  • Early stage of Accountancy professional qualification desired – ACCA, CIMA, ACA etc


Essential Experience

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel including use of Pivot tables, IF statements, VLOOKUPS and HLOOKUPS 
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to present and explain complex technical information in simple terms
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and independently 
  • Prior experience/knowledge working with accounting systems


Desirable Skills

  • Accounts Payable, Bank Reconciliations, and Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • Prior experience/knowledge of SAP and/or Quickbooks
