The company is looking for a Risk Manager to assist the Risk Management function in the day-to-day management of the firm’s related risks. The role requires a leader who can form part of the senior risk team and can take responsibility for second line oversight of the firm’s quantitative Risk Management activities, reporting to the Group Chief Risk Officer. This includes ensuring all risks within the firm’s Prudential Risk Frameworks are adequately assessed and socialised throughout the organisation. Moreover, the person will work closely with the Group Finance Function on the Stress and Scenario Testing Framework. The ideal candidate must be a leader, adaptable to change, innovative, and able to use their own initiative to support a range of risk management activities within the second line of defense.

  • Support the Risk Management Team with advice around prudential risks and methods for quantification
  • Enhancement of the Prudential Risk Framework and associated quantitative risk assessment capabilities
  • Support Finance is the creation of their Stress and Scenario Testing Framework and ensure sufficient embedment of Risk culture within the process
  • Assist with quarterly review of the MTCMP in line with the firm’s financial position and strategic objectives
  • Coordinate the ORSA (or equivalent) cycle (EU/UK/US/Other)
  • Challenge of the solvency calculations and the related stress and scenario testing outputs across the Group
  • Production of the ORSA Report(s)
  • Production of quarterly risk assessments for the different entities
  • Regular reporting, and enhancement of Risk Appetite metrics
  • Independent analysis on emerging risk within the related risk environment

Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications
  • SII Insurance carrier experience within a commercial lines environment
  • Quantitative risk or actuarial background; Risk qualification is preferred but not required
  • Risk Management experience in the Europe/US/UK is essential.
  • Highly motivated and takes pride in their work and has a conscientious and diligent work ethic.
  • Competent with Microsoft software packages (Excel, Word & PowerPoint)
