Reports to: Syndicate Finance Manager

The role

To undertake regulatory and management reporting in respect of certain Lloyd’s entities in support of Head of Syndicate Finance and Syndicate Finance Manager as required.

 

Main responsibilities

  • Review of input data and preparation, filing of all Lloyd’s Regulatory returns for Lloyd’s Syndicates, including Annual returns, Quarterly returns, US and Canadian Reporting (including schedules F&P), US and Canadian SIS.
  • Prepare Syndicate Management Accounts.
  • Assist with planning and production of Syndicate annual report and accounts, management information and financial schedules and monthly and quarterly accounting information, as required.
  • Contribute to the development of systems for syndicate reporting.
  • Assist in the migration of key tasks to syndicate personnel and to monitor the accuracy of this data.
  • Liaise with syndicate staff, auditors and actuaries as necessary.
  • Ad hoc finance projects.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles.
  • Qualified in a professional qualification or qualified by experience essential.
  • Familiarity and experience of Lloyd’s reporting requirements e.g. working knowledge of QMA/B returns, US/Can Reporting and Solvency ll returns.
  • Sound knowledge of IT systems in use within the accounting function – especially Excel, Vision, Sun Accounts.

Personal Skills

  • Ability to produce consistently accurate work to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to progress issues on own initiative, but sufficient judgement to know when to refer to Syndicate Finance Manager or Head of Syndicate Finance.
  • Ability to work in an orderly and well organised fashion.
  • Willingness to learn and put in extra effort when circumstances require.
  • Good communication skills both verbally and in writing.
